More Billboard Award Picks!

I didn't cover all of the categories last night! Keep in mind that for some of these categories, I really don't have an opinion or choice because I'm not familiar with their music.

Underlined=my second choice
Highlight=my first choice

Top Artist

Adele
Lady Gaga
Lil' Wayne
Katy Perry
Rihanna

Need I say more? It's Adele and I like Rihanna. That is all.

Top Hot 100 Song

"Rolling in the Deep"--Adele
"Party Rock Anthem"--LMFAO
"Moves Like Jagger"--Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
"E.T."--Katy Perry ft. Kanye West
"Give Me Everything"--Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, & Nayer

I chose "Rolling in the Deep" because it's Adele.
I chose "Party Rock Anthem" simply because the song was EVERYWHERE.

Top 200 Billboard Album

"21"--Adele
"Christmas"--Michael Buble
"Take Care"--Drake
"Born This Way"--Lady Gaga
"Tha Carter IV"--Lil' Wayne

Do I need to explain more about Adele?
I also liked the "Born This Way" album.

Top Touring Artist

Bon Jovi
Taylor Swift
Take That
U2
Roger Waters

I made my choices simply based on who I like the most.

Top Hot 100 Artist

Adele
LMFAO
Bruno Mars
Katy Perry
Rihanna

Adele. LMFAO was everywhere.

Top Rock Artist

Coldplay
Foster the People
Foo Fighters
Mumford and Sons
The Black Keys

I like Coldplay, they're a great band. I just chose whoever else.

Top Country Artist

Jason Aldean
Zac Brown Band
Lady Antebellum
Blake Shelton
Taylor Swift

I chose Lady Antebellum just because they're so popular now. *shrugs*
I chose Blake Shelton because he's funny.

Top Social Artist

Justin Bieber
Eminem
Lady Gaga
Rihanna
Shakira

If this is based on fans, Twitter, Facebook, etc. I chose Justin Bieber because he has a lot of followers and he does interact with his fans.

I also chose Rihanna because Rihanna's Twitter amuses me.

Top Streaming Artist

Lil' Wayne
LMFAO
Nicki Minaj
Bruno Mars
Rihanna

I have no idea what the heck this is. If feel like it has something to do with the internet perhaps? So I chose Rihanna and Nicki Minaj.

Top Digital Media Artist

Adele
Justin Bieber
Lady Gaga
Lil' Wayne
Rihanna

Billboard. I don't know what the heck these categories mean. I just chose whatever. Does this have something to do with music videos? What? WHAT?!

Top Country Album

"My Kinda Party" Jason Aldean
"The Band Perry" The Band Perry
"Tailgates and Tanlines" Luke Bryan
"We Own The Night" Lady Antebellum
"Clear As Day" Scott McCreery

Once again, I basically chose whoever. *shrugs and sips tea*

Top Alternative Artist

Coldplay
Foster the People
Foo Fighters
Mumford and Sons
The Black Keys

Same as above.

Top Latin Artist

Mana
Pitbull
Prince Royce
Romeo Santos
Shakira

I chose the only two people I know.

Top Dance Artist

David Guetta
Lady Gaga
LMFAO
Rihanna
Britney Spears

I chose LMFAO because as mentioned before, their songs were everywhere, especially in the clubs. Along with Rihanna.

Top Christian Artist

Casting Crowns
MercyMe
Skillet
Laura Story
Chris Tomlin

I chose MercyMe because they are the only people I've heard of.

Top Pop Album

"19" Adele
"21" Adele
"Christmas" Michael Buble
"Born This Way" Lady Gaga
"Under the Mistletoe" Justin Bieber

I almost chose Adele's "21" (how the heck did "19" get into the 2012 category?), but I really thought about a "Pop" sound and I personally think Lady Gaga's album fit the pop sound best. "21" was my second choice.

Top R&B Album

"4" Beyonce
"My Life II...The Journey Continues (Act 1)" Mary J. Blige
"F.A.M.E." Chris Brown
"I Remember Me" Jennifer Hudson
"Talk That Talk" Rihanna

*sigh* Billboard has made it clear that they don't distinguish between "black artists" and "R&B artists". I made Jennifer Hudson my first choice because she is in fact an R&B artist. I almost made Mary J. Blige my first choice but the length of that album title just made me mad.

I made Beyonce's "4" my second choice because as I stated in my previous Billboard post, even though Beyonce is more of a pop artist, this album certainly had lots of R&B in the mix.

Top Rap Album

"Hell: The Sequel" Bad Meets Evil
"Take Care" Drake
"Watch the Throne" Jay-Z & Kanye West
"Tha Carter IV" Lil Wayne
"Sorry For Party Rocking" LMFAO

I didn't exactly jump on the "Watch the Throne" bandwagon, but I've heard most of the songs and I liked most of them, so it's my first choice.

My made Drake's album my second choice simply because I like Drake and he did have some good hits from the album as well.

Top Rock Album

"Mylo Xyloto" Coldplay
"Wasting Light" Foo Fighters
"Torches" Foster the People
"Sigh No More" Mumford and Sons
"Here and Now" Nickelback

I just chose whatever. I like Coldplay and I really just liked "Pumped Up Kicks".

Top Alternative Album

"Mylo Xyloto" Coldplay
"Wasting Light" Foo Fighters
"Torches" Foster the People
"Sigh No More" Mumford and Sons
"Here and Now" Nickelback

I chose whatever.

Top Latin Album

"Dejarte De Amar" Camila
"Viva El Principe" Cristian Castro
"Drama Y Luz" Mana
"Prince Royce" Prince Royce
"Formula Vol. 1" Romeo Santos

Prince Royce and Romeo Santos have a lot of nominations, so I just chose them.

Top Dance Album

"Nothing but the Beat" David Guetta
"Born This Way" Lady Gaga
"The Fame" Lady Gaga
"Sorry for Party Rocking" LMFAO
"Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" Skrillex

As stated before, LMFAO ruled the club scene with their music and I'm going to assume David Guetta did the same. He's been associate with "dance" a lot.

Top Christian Album

"Come to the Well" Casting Crowns
"Until the Whole World Hears" Casting Crowns
"Awake" Skillet
"Blessings" Laura Story
"Wow Hits 2012" Various Artists

I made it easy on myself and chose the album with the various artists. I chose Laura Story's album because she's a woman. *shrugs*

Top Digital Song

"Rolling in the Deep" Adele
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO
"Sexy and I Know It" LMFAO
"Moves Like Jagger" Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
"E.T." Katy Perry ft. Kanye West

When I think digital, I think downloads and ringtones. I heard a lot of "Moves Like Jagger" coming from people's phones and iPods as well as "Sexy and I Know It".

Top Streaming Song (Audio)

"Without You" David Guetta ft. Usher
"Rolling in the Deep" Adele
"How to Love" Lil Wayne
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett & Goonrock
"Super Bass" Nicki Minaj

Once again, I have no clue what the heck this "streaming" is supposed to be, I assume it has something to do with internet play, so I chose Rolling in the Deep because it's Adele and "How to Love" just so I could actually choose Lil' Wayne for something.

Top Radio Song

"Rolling in the Deep" Adele
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO
"Moves Like Jagger" Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
"Give Me Everything" Pitpull ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer
"We Found Love" Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris

Whether I'm in the car, in a restaurant, or simply walking down the street, I hear "We Found Love" so I made that my first choice. I also heard "Rolling in the Deep" a lot on the radio.

Top Streaming Song (Video)

"Someone Like You" Adele
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO
"Sexy and I Know It" LMFAO
"The Lazy Song" Bruno Mars
"Super Bass" Nicki Minaj

I assume this has something to do with video play on the internet. I chose Someone Like You because the video has a LOT of views. I almost made Super Bass my second choice, but I decided to choose Bruno Mars just because I haven't highlighted or underlined his name as much as I would like to. His album is great!

Top Pop Song

"Rolling in the Deep" Adele
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO
"Sexy and I Know It" LMFAO
"Moves Like Jagger" Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
"E.T." Katy Perry ft. Kanye West

I chose the songs that I heard the most.

Top Country Song

"Dirt Road Anthem" Jason Aldean
"Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" Luke Bryan
"Crazy Girl" Eli Young Band
"Just A Kiss" Lady Antebellum
"Honey Bee" Blake Shelton

I chose "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" because the title amuses me. "Dirt Road Anthem" just sounds like a cool song title to me.

Top R&B Song

"She Ain't You" Chris Brown
"FK You (Forget You)" Cee Lo Green
"Down On Me" Jeremih
"Sure Thing" Miguel
"Motivation" Kelly Rowland ft. Lil' Wayne

I chose Miguel's "Sure Thing" because it truly is an R&B song. It reminds me of an early 2000s R&B song. "Motivation" was my second choice because not only did it stay on the radio 24/7, but it actually has a nice modern R&B sound. I really liked "She Ain't You" as well, I almost chose it as second.

Top Rock Song

"Rolling in the Deep" Adele
"Someone Like You" Adele
"Paradise" Coldplay
"Pumped Up Kicks" Foster the People
"Walk" Foo Fighters

Once again, I chose whatever.

Top Alternative Song

"Someone Like You" Adele
"Sail" Awolnation
"Paradise" Coldplay
"Pumped Up Kicks" Foster the People
"The Cave" Mumford and Songs

I chose whatever. Well, for my second choice I chose whatever. Coldplay certainly has that "Alternative" sound.

Top Latin Song

"Bon Bon" Pitbull
"Danza Kuduro" Don Omar & Lucenzo
"Taboo" Don Omar
"Corazon Sin Cara" Prince Royce
"Promise" Romeo Santos ft. Usher

I chose the songs with the most Latin titles.

Top Dance Song

"In the Dark" Dev
"Without You" David Guetta ft. Usher
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO
"Sexy and I Know It" LMFAO
"Til the World Ends" Britney Spears

Party Rock Anthem, the ultimate dance song this previous year and I chose Britney's song simply because she's Britney Spears and should get SOMETHING this year.

Top Christian Song

"Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)" Casting Crowns
"Hold Me" Jamie Grace ft. Tobymac
"Stronger" Mandisa
"Blessings" Laura Story
"Strong Enough" Matthew West

I chose songs with titles that stuck out to me.

Top Rap Song

"Good Feeling" Flo Rida
"Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO
"Sexy and I Know It" LMFAO
"Give Me Everything" Pitbull
"Super Bass" Nicki Minaj

As you can see, I only made one choice. I'm more familiar with "Super Bass" and I don't consider the LMFAO songs to be "rap". *shrugs*
