Fredi Washington dated Duke Ellington for a short time, but when she realized he wouldn't marry her she ended the relationship. She began dating Lawrence Brown and they later married, but the marriage ended in divorce.
She later married Anthony Bell, a dentist. Bell passed away in the late 1980s.
Fredi Washington passed away on June 28, 1994 after having a stroke. She was 90 years old.
It is very, VERY important that America, especially Black America recognizes this woman and her contributions to film, civil rights, and racial equality. Please read more about her and put her name further out there. Hopefully a biography or some more information about her comes out to the public.
