Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a safe New Year's Eve! I am so ready for what 2013 has to offer!

I've chosen the theme for this month and will be kicking things off this coming Sunday. I believe this month's theme may be the most informative yet--I'm very anxious to start!

In the meantime, Turner Classic Movies has released their schedule for the month of January. They will be showing quite a few films featuring People of Color (although they are on at the oddest hours--in EST anyway).

For the first two weeks of January, TCM will be showing:

Cabin in the Sky (1943)
Starring Ethel Waters, Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, and Lena Horne.

The Littlest Rebel (1935)
Starring Shirley Temple, featuring Bill "Bojangles" Robinson.

The Cheat (1915)
Starring Fannie Ward and Sessue Hayakawa.

The Dragon Painter (1919)
Starring husband and wife--Sessue Hayakawa and Tsuru Aoki.

The Life of Oharu (1952)
Starring Kinuyo Tanaka, Tsukie Matsuura, IchirĂ´ Sugai, and ToshirĂ´ Mifune.

A Soldier's Story (1984)
Starring Howard E. Rollings, Jr., Adolph Caesar, and Art Evans.

Ocean's Eleven (1960)
Starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
Stars some of Hollywood's most legendary entertainers--including Eddie "Rochester" Anderson.

Of course, TCM will also be showing other great Classic Movies as always! Here is the full schedule for the month of January.

I hope everyone enjoys their day and has an excellent New Year!
