I'm currently sitting in my living room, barely watching the TV. I heard a strong "Mexican" accent and looked up to see an unfamiliar actor on one of my favorite shows, Father Knows Best. This particular episode had a gardener on it named Fronk/Frank and this character was played by Natividad Vacío.
Mr. Vacío was born on September 8, 1912 in El Paso, Texas. He attended high school with actor George Reeves and it was Reeves who encouraged Natividad to join him at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. He appeared in several plays as an actor and a musician. He would go on to work in countless movies and television shows throughout the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

ReplyDeleteI wish they had him do more episodes in Father Knows Best. I think those are some of the best that they had on their TV show. He brought Joy to my mornings and make me laugh! Thank you. Hope to talk to you in heaven!

Nati Vacio was my grandparent’s compadre. They met in Padua Hills, Claremont, CA as some of the original Mexican Players. He was also a school teacher. Nati and

I was so happy to find this comment! I just watched an episode of Police Woman (on Tubi). I agree with others, he stole the scene, so I went down the rabbit hole searching for as much information about him as I could find, since I knew I recognized his face! I was sad to see that he died long ago. I remembered him in The Magnificent Seven (one of my grandmother and mom's favorite movies). But what I was missing is any information on his personal life - family, friends, children...So...thank you for again for this wonderful comment!

ReplyDeleteI loved my uncle Nati very much. Miss doing the posadas with him, my auntie queta and auntie Chelo at the mission every year. He was an amazing man and love that he touched so many lives. So great to come across this feed of him :)
