Unsung of the Screen: Calvin Lockhart (Post One)

This week, we celebrate the ridiculously gorgeous and talented Mr. Calvin Lockhart.

Bert Cooper was born on October 18, 1934 in the Bahamas. He moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue a career in engineering, but would soon leave to pursue an acting career. He worked a few odd jobs to support himself--including driving a taxi and being a carpenter while searching for acting jobs.

Legend has it that Calvin got his first role in a play called "The Cool World" in 1960 when the playwright, Ketti Frings was impressed at his arrogance while driving her in his taxi.
