ABC's first program in color!
The Jetsons was television's second animated sitcom (The Flintstones, also on ABC, was the first). It premiered on September 23, 1962. As mentioned before, it was also ABC's first color broadcast. Even though The Flintstones (which premiered in 1960) was produced in color, it was actually broadcast in black-and-white during its first two seasons.
